What’s in the Infectious Disease Training & Certification Course?

Our Infectious Diseases training course is regulation compliant, and our online version fulfills classroom training requirements. Each class contains sections on Transmission, Protection from Disease, and more.

During this training, we will be taking a look at the specific procedures and tasks that are required of someone who is striving to protect themselves and others from infectious diseases. As part of this training, you will learn the importance of proper personal hygiene and respiratory etiquette. We will also discuss the various ways in which a disease can be transmitted. Finally, we will emphasize the necessity to break the chain of infection through the use of proper cleaning and sanitation procedures, PPE, and precautions when exposed to disease-spreading insects.

This presentation includes intermittent practice quiz questions to prepare for the final written exam included with the course. In addition to the written exam, this course also includes a checklist for employers to use when administering a practical exam as required by Canada.

Why do I need a Infectious Disease Training & Certification

In line with regulations, those in many workplaces must receive training on infectious disease prevention prior to beginning work. While requirements for refresher training are very specific, most safety trainings don’t have such specific requirements. However it’s wise to follow the same guidelines.. Most other topics don’t have such specific requirements, but it’s wise to follow the same guidelines.

When it comes to refresher training, the standards in some instances (like forklifts) are very specific: operators must be re-evaluated every three years to see if they are still competent to operate the equipment. Best practices say to apply this same rule to all topics. A so-called “free-pass” cannot be awarded based on experience, age, or time on the job. The extent of the evaluation is to be determined by the employer but should include a written and practical examination that prove continued competency.
